St Albans Pub Review
Welcome to stalbanspubreview.co.uk - the complete guide to all St Albans city centre pubs.

All fifty three pubs in St Albans have been visited and reviewed between November 2006 and December 2007.
The aim was to complete the review within one year but due to circumstances beyond our control (pub closed for refurbishment) we reviewed the fifty third pub in the first week of December 2007.

The review team will regularly visit all these pubs and update the pub details when there are any significant changes.

Each pub was rated out of ten for real ale, character, atmosphere and how trendy a pub is and an average was taken to get an overall score. The Scoring page explains how pubs have been rated and what the various categories mean.

 The Blacksmiths Arms
Large city centre pub with great selection of real ales. Large garden, live music at weekends, tv screens for sport, food all day.

Latest Pub News:-

September 2012:
St Albans Beer Festival Wednesday 26th to Saturday 29th at the Alban Arena. Up to 350 real ales from from local and national breweries across three bars. Live music and hot food available.

Bar Baroque is now open taking over from the Crosskeys. Unlikely to have any real ales unfortunately.

August 2012:
Lion-Hart Beer and Music Festival at the White Hart Tap and White Lion - Friday 6pm to Monday 11pm. Over sixty ales. Live music and hog roast on Monday.

July 2012:
The Crosskeys has been taken over by Bar Baroque and will open in August.
It looks as though it will be a smart restaurant and cocktail bar with little chance of real ales being available.
