Thursday 12th October 2006 saw the start of an epic crusade to visit and review all fifty three pubs in St Albans city centre and local areas within walking distance. It's a tough job but someone has to do it!

There was plenty of people willing to join us for a few beers and here is a complete list of all those who joined us on the various sections of the pub review:- the review team

Each pub was rated out of ten for real ale, character, atmosphere and how trendy a pub is and an average was taken to get an overall score.
The Scoring page explains how pubs have been rated and what the various categories mean. The full results table shows the complete set of results for all of the pubs reviewed.

It was decided to do the review in a number of stages covering around five or six pubs at every stage.

Stage One - Thursday 12th Oct 2006
This covered the back street pubs behind the corner of Holywell Hill and London Road and included the Beehive, White Hart Tap, Garibaldi, Hare and Hounds, White Lion and finally the Goat.
