Review
Formally Casa, the Slug and Lettuce in St Albans is a modern contemporary bar attracting trendy people in their twenties and early thirties.
The place is clean and smart but has no character.
Doormen keep a check on who enters the place, entry age is believed to be 21.
No real ale here, however, there are lots of fancy taps selling a good selection of premium lagers, a fruit beer and Guinness at top prices.
Nastro on draught actually tasted quite pleasant.
Towards the back of the bar there is plenty of seating, much of it resembled seats in train compartments. Wi-Fi access is provided by The Cloud.
The music that they played sounded awful but I suppose younger people may appreciate it.
Apart from the lack of real ale and character, this place is quite a comfortable relaxing place to drink during the day especially if you can get one of the comfortable seats next to the front window.
In the evenings when it is busy the atmosphere can be quite good, if the music isn't too loud, and the Slug and Lettuce does attract good looking people.
